It has been a HOT minute since my last post and I am very sorry!

Life gets busy and I have not had time to sit down and write to motivate my followers when I am struggling finding motivation to get through, but finally here I am.

2 weeks ago I had my "Golden" Birthday. It was my Jordan Year as some may call it...#23.

While reading this, play 23 by Miley Cyrus in the background here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbEoRnaOIbs (if not, no judgement here, ever!)

After my birthday, I sat down and wanted to reflect on 23 lessons that I have learned throughout this life so far and share them with you. I hope some motivate you on this Monday and to use in your future.

1. It is okay to be different, if we were all the same, life would be too boring! I share this point with you all because being different from others may scare the crap out of you. When in high school being different from others was terrible and weird. Once I got to college and realized I was not living the life of a college student but rather living the life of an older adult, I took it and rolled with it. Yes I love being at home. Yes I love eating oatmeal and drinking cranberry juice for breakfast...don't judge!

2. Support your family. Supporting your family is being there to LISTEN and encourage them to live their best life. If they are happy, you should be happy for them!

3. Stay humble. When life finally returns the favor with some victories celebrate them, but always remember that you are not better than the person standing next to you. Life should not be about who has the nicest this or that. Stay focused on you and working to get better every day.

4. Love first. Love instead of hate. At a very young age, my dad never allowed my brother and I to say we hated someone or something. This has stuck with me throughout the 23 years and to remember to act out of love first.

5. Be kind. No need to elaborate here. We live in a scary world where we have many choices. Your first instinct and option should be kindness.

6. HUSTLE. Go after what you want in life. No dream is too small and no dream is not achievable. With a strong work ethic, I believe anything is possible.

7. Never Settle. It all goes back to your happiness. Never settle for being unhappy. Whether that's at work, school, relationships...never settle. You always deserve to live your best life.

8. Growth Mindset. Having a growth mindset makes you want to get better to achieve your goals. Growth mindset is realizing that you are not perfect, but you are always willing to get better and live your best life.

9. Positivity. Refer to previous blog post to see how positivity impacted my life: ebossung.wixsite.com/ebossblog/mindset

Summary: having a positive mindset rather than always thinking negative will change your whole life's perspective. the + mindset blog above will go into more detail!

10. Life is too short. I have seen individuals at my age, younger than me, or slightly older pass away. It is not easy, but it makes you realize how short life is. You never know what can happen or what will happen. Soak it all in and cherish the ones you love and make sure they know you care about them.

11. Push Yourself. Go outside of your comfort zone every once in awhile. I love surprising people with what I am able to accomplish or show people that I am a indeed decent person and I go for what my heart desires most.

12. ME TIME. Find it important. I make sure every evening I have Em time. Whether that is watching my favorite reality shows, getting a work out in, or eating shells and cheese while drinking Sweet Marcella <-------my fav red wine...I make time.

OHHHHHHH WE'RE HALF WAY THERE......*Please sing in Bon Jovi voice*

13. Look around you. Who do you surround yourself with? Do they make you happy or are they always dragging you down? It makes a HUGE difference on your mindset and your attitude.

14. Find your passion and share it with the world. Mine is Public Health. Many do not know what this field entails (this might be a blog post for a different Monday) or how rewarding but frustrating most days are, but it is my passion and no salary can hold me back from making my mark/difference on the world and one day the older adult population will be living their best lives to the fullest if I can help make it happen. #BeTheChange

15. Physical & Mental Health. BOTH ARE IMPORTANT! Both of mine were terrible in college and getting out from that feeling of constant pressure and taking both seriously improved my mindset and life so much. Take care of your bodies and your emotions. You deserve to be happy, healthy, heard and understood.

16. Express yo self. What ever that may be. Be yourself. Don't try and fit in. Stand out.

17. Treat your self! (With some limitations of course ;)

If something great happens in your life, reward yourself.

If you have not been taking time for yourself, go buy an outfit. Go get your nails done. You deserve to be pampered too!

18. Understanding. In my job and in my life, I have been trying to do a better job at being understanding before getting frustrated or upset. You never know what that other person is going through that day. Be understanding and be willing to listen if they are struggling.

19. What love should look like...*ebossung.wixsite.com/ebossblog/post/build-me-up-buttercup* but to summarize being supported, challenged to be your best self, and loved every day is my kind of love that I deserve and luckily have.

20. Eat that extra bite! Eat that extra bite. Eat the raw cookie dough. Eat the ice cream out of the container. LIFE IS TOO DANG SHORT not to eat what you want. Take a break now and then from the clean eating and treat yourself!

21. Self- Confidence. When finally saying, I can give two *bleeps* less what others opinions of me are, I became stronger and definitely a force to be reckoned with. I am strong. I am Independent. And the best work in progress and that makes me proud and happy to love myself!

22. Someone else's opinion of you is none of your business *ebossung.wixsite.com/ebossblog/post/let-it-go* This post was a HUGE hit and I received a lot of thank you's and I needed this post today. You deserve to read it and of course you're welcome!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST

23. TBD....sorry for the build up, but this lesson is currently in progress and will be updated July 23rd, 2020.

Thanks for always reading to what I have to say. I hope some, most, or all of these lessons that I have learned throughout my life can help motivate you on this Monday because plain and simple, YOU DESERVE IT!

Happy Monday!

~Em
